SF defensive end arrested for domestic violence

Professional football player Ray McDonald was arrested by authorities for allegedly abusing his partner in the early morning hours of August 31, an article on the Daily News stated.

The 30-year-old San Francisco 49ers defensive end was booked in Santa Clara County Jail on a charge of felony domestic violence. Authorities arrested McDonald before 3:00 a.m. at his home where he was celebrating his upcoming birthday. McDonald’s arrest came only days after the National Football League (NFL) strengthened sanctions for players charged with domestic violence. McDonald reportedly may face harsher punishment from the league since his alleged victim is pregnant. The player was later released after posting a $25,000 bail.
