Denied visitation rights causes father to become violent

After a North Texas father was denied the right to visit his son in jail, he rammed his vehicle into the Denton County Jail on March 10. Following this incident, the man was placed in jail.

Fortunately, two inmates who were resting near the point of impact sustained only minor injuries after being thrown from their beds.

According to Sheriff Will Travis, the father, Rolando Hernandez of Lewisville, was extremely intoxicated when he drove his pickup truck straight through the west wing of the Denton County Jail. A lockdown was immediately enforced after the incident. The amount of damage to the facility is still unknown.

Hernandez, who suffered minor injuries, is facing two counts of aggravated assault and one count of criminal mischief with a bond set at $200,000.

Online jail reports state that Hernandez has yet to appoint an attorney.
