Intoxicated school bus driver arrested in Leander

An alleged intoxicated female school bus driver was recently arrested after crashing into several items on the bus route, 20-30 students on board, a KXAN article reported on October 16.

Reports said Kathy Loraine Legrand crashed a Leander Independent School District bus containing 22 to 30 children several times. One of the student passengers said that they were panicking and telling Legrand to slow down. A responding deputy confirmed that Legrand was impaired when the crash occurred. The bus driver later admitted to taking several medications and drinking a small amount of alcohol before the incident. Several DUI-related charges were filed against her.
