Cocaine discovered on DWI offender in Austin
Austin authorities recently apprehended a suspected intoxicated driver, who they later discovered possessed a quantity of cocaine, a January 4 article of CBS Austin reported.
According to reports, Florentino Herrera, 48, was pulled over by Austin Police at about 12:26 a.m. on New Year’s Eve after he was caught driving erroneously on North Lamar Boulevard. Herrera was also seen ignoring a traffic stop. Due to suspicions that Herrera was under the influence of alcohol, authorities transported him to jail. While on their way, authorities noticed Herrera attempting to destroy a substance, which they believe was cocaine. The suspected cocaine was reportedly hidden under the flab of his stomach. Herrera is currently facing third-degree felony DWI and a bond of $35,000 was imposed on him.
