Football player in Texas arrested after suspected of assaulting girlfriend

A member of the Texas A&M University football team was recently apprehended by authorities due to allegations that he caused bodily injuries to his partner, an August 21 report of 12newsnow.com revealed.

Reports said law enforcers from the College Station apprehended Junior footballer Josh Walker on August 19 due to a suspicion that he was responsible for the “large bruise” sustained by his girlfriend whose name was withheld. Though information revealed that Walker acknowledged responsibility for the assault, he reasoned out that his girlfriend was not standing properly during the incident. Aside from the domestic violence-related charge, Walker is also facing a charge for preventing someone to seek an emergency assistance after he was alleged of forcibly seizing the woman’s cellphone. Walker is currently booked at Brazos County Jail and the Texas A&M University has indefinitely suspended him from the game.

Domestic dispute results in scissor attack

Authorities responded to calls regarding domestic disturbance to a Chestnut Street apartment in Rock Hill at around 5:50 a.m. on July 26, the Herald Online reported.

The police found 50-year-old Harold Fitzgerald Roddey in the street on their way to the apartment, who said he was stabbed with scissors by his 42-year-old girlfriend Tarasha Denton after an argument ultimately got physical. The police officers reported seeing a puncture wound in Roddey’s arm. According to Roddey, Denton became angry upon finding out that he had another woman in the apartment.

Police investigators searched for Denton and found her at a house across the street. Upon being questioned about the incident, Denton said she did not stab Roddey. Denton was charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature and was taken into police custody on the spot.

George Zimmerman’s domestic violence charges dismissed

Florida resident, George Zimmerman, will not face domestic violence charges after a violent altercation with his estranged wife, Shellie.

The Lake Mary police are unable to charge Zimmerman because they cannot salvage the video recordings necessary to incriminate him. Officer, Zach Hudson, said that the iPad containing video footage of the fight was broken into “half a dozen pieces.” Police were unable to continue with the case without the necessary evidence.

Zimmerman and his wife separated in August of this year after he was acquitted of the second-degree murder charges brought against him for killing Trayvon Martin in 2012.
